Overwatch [Game Review] – BK Digital Academy

Overwatch [Game Review]

For those who have spent recent years in hibernation or in Dota 2. Overwatch is a team-based shooter from Blizzard. Everything about it is done perfectly. The gameplay, graphic style, animations, characters, voice acting are all done in the traditions of the company, that is, awesome.

To prove this statement, we can together count the number of awards the game received in its first year. 18 “Game of the Year” awards in various variations, and a bunch more awards like “Best Design”, “Best Multiplayer”, “Best Debut”, “Best Shooter”, “Best Character Design”, “Best New Franchise” and so on.

Such a number of awards says something, you must agree? Definitely the game was a success! What about competitors??

But in the future, is everything so rosy?? Games of this quality don’t come out often. Overwatch is a really good game, but there’s one problem. The game gets boring.

New content is rarely https://big-casino.co.uk/ released, which makes the game boring. Ranked matches are certainly cool, but you can’t play them endlessly. You’re getting tired. In a ranked game, it’s not always possible to play for your favorite characters, you have to constantly adapt to the team, and sometimes you want to play for Genji!

New events come out every 2-3 months, but they fucking disappear. It’s sad when they’re gone. I was never able to complete PvE missions on high difficulty, but I really wanted to. On weekends we got together with friends to spend hardmodes and it was cool. It’s very cool when you sit, think through tactics and discuss them with friends, and immediately try. Familiar characters are revealed from a different side in such missions.

I’m generally silent about introducing heroes. 3 heroes were made in a year and that’s cool, but 2 of them are not playable, they are boring and weak. Lowest popularity in both quick and ranked games.

For some reason, Blizzard can’t create the kind of sports gameplay like in CS:GO or good old Quake and Unreal Tournament. The matches there seemed to me more intense, tactical and skill-based, or something?. Maybe, of course, I’ve already become old and games have stopped surprising me, but still. Often fights come down to who can use their ultimate faster and better, which is not what I expect from a team shooter. 3 on 3 and 1 on 1 battles are cool, everything is serious there. The one who shoots the best, the one who moves the best, is the dad.

In any case, Overwatch is so far the only game of the next generation, so to speak, that has achieved success in the eSports field. The matches are interesting to watch. Sometimes unreal comebacks happen. Professional players do things that make you sit with your mouth open. The game is in the top of Twitch, which means it’s spectacular and people like it, and that’s the most important thing.

New “stillborn” games like Quake Champions, Law Breakers or Agents of Mayhem look weak to competitors. Some projects did not even live to see release. Couldn’t stand the competition.

Respect to the game Paladins, it came out on time and made great progress thanks to the release of Overwatch. Free Overwatch, and even on Steam! BO-O-O-M-M-BA!

Personally, I have only positive emotions associated with Overwatch. Hundreds of hours spent fighting in a group with friends. The game pushed me to make better videos, ideas for developing the channel appeared. I was the streamer of the week and my magic face hung in Battle.nope. It was cool!

I wish Overwatch good health and powerful expansion in eSports. Still, this is still the only shooter of this quality on the market, and Blizzard is my favorite company.

You press on the right points, but too one-sidedly and not objectively, plus some of your statements are too unpopular for the masses (for example: “New “stillborn” games”, or also “Free Overwatch”). I won’t say whether I personally agree. Besides this, many of the things you present as facts are not even close to the truth on the surface. Here are two examples:
1) “but 2 of them are not playable” – where did you get that from?? Orisa may not be played on the pro stage (although she is played a little even at high ranks), but Sombra is played everywhere, albeit not so often.
2) “games like Quake Champions, Law Breakers or Agents of Mayhem look weak to their competitors” – on the contrary, these games are among the first to be considered by both pro players and “mere mortals” because they have the necessary base for e-sports and just pleasant evening gatherings with friends
