Selecting an e-book. – BK Digital Academy

Selecting an e-book.

Good evening. I want to buy an e-book, but I don’t understand them at all. I ask for help in choosing from people who have experience with e-books. The main criteria that will affect the purchase of a device:
1) Long battery life.
2) Reading the most common formats (PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TXT, DOC), as well as more specific ones (RAR, CBR/CBZ (reading comics)).
3) Color screen (for reading comics).
4) The safest screen for the eyes.
Games, music, access to the Internet are not of interest. Is it the Internet?.

If there are any other important aspects that you should pay attention to, then indicate them if it’s easy for you. Thank you very much in advance!

My closet is full. All shelves in three rows. And at the same time, the same amount was distributed to libraries. They lie like dead weight. And this despite the fact that a small e-book can contain a library thousands of times larger.

Didn’t see this post right away.

My condolences. Buying an iPad to read comics requires you to be a very smart person.

In poor lighting, either do not https://kartaccasino.co.uk/ read at all, or, if poor lighting often surrounds you, then choose a backlit book. Yes, and looking at a bright screen in poor lighting is also bad for the eyes.

Read the regular ones, they are more natural, they smell nice, you feel real paper in your hands… I wouldn’t trade them for anything for these newfangled things without a cover. Besides, an e-book is piracy!

"Color Screen"(TFT) – bullshit. Then you can not take an e-book at all, but read from a tablet – it will be the same thing. But E-lnk is a different matter. The eyes don’t get tired, the battery lasts a long time, it looks very much like real paper. Only this display is readable.

The electronic book lovers I spoke with are extremely fond of QUMO Libro II. This is an electronic ink book, supports a bunch of formats, has a very long battery life, convenient, practical, durable, thanks to the keyboard you can easily and quickly set the desired page and hotkey combinations.

Another post with problems choosing an e-reader -_-
As usual, I send to the specialized forum www.the-ebook.org/forum/ – they will definitely help you there.
p/s Once again I repeat, buying an e-reader with a TFT screen is insanity. The main difference between an e-reader and a tablet is a very long battery life and much less harm to the eyes.

700 rubles in the “Top Book” (we don’t have any others, or rather they don’t exist now, and the rest will soon be there)

From very simple. TFT technology itself is disgusting (cheap and old). This is an ordinary screen with a certain refresh rate that you cannot see, but the brain easily perceives.
In the same subway or on the bus, reading from TFT, the brain will leak out through the ears.

E-Ink is built using a completely different technology. There is no screen update there. That is why the battery is wasted only by turning pages.

If you’re a reader, it’s best with E-Ink Perl. There are no color E-Inks in Russia yet, and in the West they are very expensive (the technology is simply new).

Tablet/TFT crap on Linux is a piece of shit. Either buy a piece of shit, kill your eyes and “read” color comics, or buy a normal reader with a matte screen and backlight – and enjoy life.

Well, let’s say the same Palahniuk, duped by fans of not empty reading matter, is not cheap at all. Just recently, I looked at his books at a sale, and even at a discount it would have been expensive to buy.
